NAMIBIA PROJECT URGENT APPEAL
Dear Namibia Project family,
We are writing to you because you have generously supported the Namibia Project in the past.
Why reach out today?
Over 1.4 million people are in danger of starvation as Namibia suffers its worst drought in a century. Dozens of children have reportedly died from malnutrition.
For over a decade, the Namibia Project has provided the orphans and vulnerable children at ||Khuta!hoas Primary School hostel in ǁKharas Region, Southern Namibia, with food aid. The school is now down to its last 80 kg of maize meal to feed 85 learners breakfast – for many, their only meal of the day.
Without immediate resupply, these children's well-being will be at grave risk.

What is at stake?
The Namibia Project is launching an emergency appeal to make sure that ||Khuta!hoas can continue to provide 1065 simple meals a week.
Just £5 would feed one learner for a week, allowing them to have the energy to grow and focus on their studies
What’s new?
Today, the project is entirely independent and has a new board of trustees, with a fresh perspective and bold vision. Meet the 2024 trustees here.
With your help, we can give each learner subsistence-level food for the remainder of the school year.
What next?
Donate NOW.
Any amount, however small, will make a difference.

A NEW EXCITING CHAPTER FOR THE NAMIBIA PROJECT CHARITY

The Namibia Project has come of age. Over the past quarter century, your support has allowed some of the poorest children in sub-saharan Africa to stay in education and fulfil their academic dreams. Two of these students, Oliver Shirunda and Irmgard Ndumba, have gone on to graduate from university. We could not be more proud of them!

Since 1998, the Namibia Project has been indelibly affiliated with ACS Cobham International School. Under the stewardship of Ann and Rijn Brandse, 433 students made the annual trip to Namibia, fuelling a vibrant cultural exchange and raising hundreds of thousands of pounds for struggling rural schools. We are profoundly grateful to the whole ACS community for helping to sustain this partnership, including after the Namibia Project spun out to become an independent registered charity in 2015.

This year marks the latest exciting chapter in our journey. As the Brandses finally hang up their bush hats in favour of a much-deserved relaxing retirement (which just happens to involve walking 2,700 miles of the British coast) it’s time for new trustees to take the Namibia Project into the future. Though no longer directly linked to ACS, our mission remains unchanged – to improve the lives and opportunities of orphans and vulnerable children at llKhuta!hoas Primary School and beyond.

With nearly half of Namibians living in poverty and youth unemployment at a record 46%, it’s more important than ever before to equip students with the means to finish school and help uplift their country.
As a small charity operating during the biggest cost of living crisis in a generation, will have to do more with less. Luckily, our new trustees are digital natives who will harness their creativity, youthful energy and the power of emerging technologies to make each pound go further than ever.
Here is to a new, exciting chapter of this vital cause!
